Age and Fertility

Even if we yoga at dawn, kale all day, get in our 8 hours of sleep and drink gallons of water and kombucha, nothing can change our biological clock. Our fertility begins to decline at age 33, and we lose more eggs each month until we hit menopause. But even though we may release eggs and get a period until our ovaries are depleted around age 50, we are not actually fertile all the way until menopause. As we age, the quality of our eggs declines too, so the chances of the released egg fertilizing each month decreases.

Generally speaking, by the time we hit our mid-40's, we are no long able to conceive with our own eggs each month until we hit menopause.
