    Brain Development—Times Two!
    Choline improves immune and cognitive function, and if you are chest/breastfeeding, the Choline concentration in your milk supports baby’s memory, too. It can also help if you’re experiencing decreased focus and memory after delivery.
    Milk-Making Support
    You need more Calcium during pregnancy, and for the first year after delivery. If you’re chest/breastfeeding, Calcium is critical in supporting milk composition and volume. Your calcium stores also influence your blood pressure, muscle strength and function, blood clotting, nervous system and hormone production.
    Energy Boosting
    It’s hard to get enough Vitamin B12, especially when our diets fall short. It converts fat and protein to energy—something you need tons of postpartum. B12 gets used up fast in pregnancy, and a deficiency in a chest/breastfeeding parent can be passed on to the child. It’s recommended to get well above the suggested daily intake of B12, as we only absorb a small amount of it from supplements.

    This comprehensive blend includes Vitamin D for Calcium absorption and immune aid, along with Iodine, Zinc and Selenium for thyroid support. Meanwhile, easy-to-absorb Iron helps your blood transport oxygen, reducing the risk of postpartum anemia and associated fatigue. Pregnancy go-tos Folic Acid and Methylated Folate (5-MTHF, the active form of Folic Acid) are still important postnatal because Folate is needed for red blood cell development, energy creation, and DNA and RNA production, and it can be shared with an infant via chest/breastfeeding. Choline improves immune and cognitive function for the birthing parent and eases symptoms of decreased focus after delivery. If you’re chest/breastfeeding, the Choline concentration in your mik supports baby’s memory, too. For a much-needed energy boost in those early days, turn to Vitamin B12. It converts fat and protein into energy.     Algae Oil DHA (x1)
    Every cell in your body needs this omega-3 fatty acid, but it’s not something you produce naturally and many diets fall short. Postpartum, DHA is passed to the baby via chest/breastmilk to support cognitive, visual and immune system development. The DHA levels in milk can vary widely—it depends entirely on how much the chest/breastfeeding person consumes. To make it easier on you, our vegan DHA comes from algae oil so there’s no fishy aftertaste.

    The top reason parents stop chest/breastfeeding is low milk supply—but we’ve got you covered if that’s your preferred feeding method. There are several plants that research has shown can increase breast milk production and stimulate flow. Blessed Thistle is a Mediterranean herb that stimulates blood circulation to the mammary glands to improve milk flow. Fenugreek Seeds are a source of phytoestrogens, which play a role in the making of prolactin, the milk production hormone. Moringa Leaf, a highly valued food crop in its native South Asia, has been shown to increase prolactin levels and milk production.

    What you may be asking yourself right now

    I gave birth awhile ago, can I still take The Postpartum?
    Yes! At its core, The Postpartum is a fantastic daily multivitamin, giving people with eggs a lot of support with essential nutrients. A high dose of B12 is great for energy, plus it supports the replication of DNA. (Reminder: DNA is like the instruction manual found in all your cells that tells your body how to make proteins.) Replicating DNA takes a lot of energy, so we need our daily doses of Folic Acid and 5-MTHF, Zinc, Magnesium and Iron to lend their support. We also need to bring in the big guns like Selenium, Vitamin C and Vitamin E to help prevent damage to our DNA and keep our body running smoothly.
    Why do I need extra Calcium and Magnesium after I give birth?
    You need more calcium during pregnancy, and for the first year after delivery. If you’re chest/breastfeeding, calcium is critical in supporting milk composition and volume. Your calcium stores also influence your blood pressure, muscle strength and function, blood clotting, nervous system and hormone production. As we age, our body’s ability to absorb calcium from food declines, so a top-up when our body needs it most is recommended.

    Mangenisum is commonly depleted, and the low can be amplified by stress and hormone swings (hello postpartum life!). It acts an anxiety reducer and muscle relaxant—super helpful during the postnatal days of adjusting to a new normal, which often involves a lack of sleep.

    Everything I need!

    I love that these are so convenient & easy to take. It also takes away the guessing name on if I am getting the correct vitamins. They are also easy on the stomach! I have taken these from day one postpartum and have been very happy.

    The perfect postpartum vitamin, wish I found sooner!

    I actually never switched to a “prenatal” vitamin bc my multi covered more than what most of them did and in higher doses. However, after birth and quite some ways into my first year of motherhood & breastfeeding, I learned you actually need higher amounts of certain minerals and such even compared to pregnancy. So I started poking around again to see if I could find something specific to these needs and in fewer than 4 pills (my previous multi).
