All the benefits
Brain Development
Choline is crucial for fetal brain development—and often lacking in diets and forgotten in prenatal formulas.
Neural Tube Support
You always hear about Folic Acid for healthy brain and spine development, but Choline plays a huge role too, and many prenatals don’t pack enough. Tick both boxes with the recommended amount of Choline (which most prenatals skimp on or skip altogether) plus a hybrid of Folic Acid and 5-Methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF—the active form of Folic Acid).
Thyroid Function
Iodine, Zinc and Selenium each play an essential role in your thyroid hormones’ production, synthesis and metabolism, respectively.
Egg Health
Vitamin A is an essential nutrient for everyone but it’s extra crucial for egg health. You’ll often only find its precursor Beta-Carotene in prenatals, but we use a preformed version of the vitamin to make sure your eggs get the real deal.
All the good stuff in it
Daily Essentials for Females (x2)
When you’re trying (or thinking about it!), this comprehensive blend includes Vitamin D for Calcium absorption and immune aid, and Iodine, Zinc, and Selenium for thyroid support. Already pregnant? A hybrid of Folic Acid and Methylated Folate (5-MTHF, the active form of Folic Acid), along with Vitamin B12 and Choline support fetal brain, spine, and nervous system development. And while most prenatals pack a Vitamin A precursor called Beta-Carotene, this one has the vitamin preformed so it can get straight to work.
Algae Oil DHA (Omega-3) (x1)
Every cell in your body needs this Omega-3 Fatty Acid, but it’s not something you produce naturally and many diets fall short. During pregnancy, you need even more DHA because it gets used up fast for fetal brain, nervous system and eye development. Our DHA comes from algae oil so there’s no fishy aftertaste.
Iron (x1)
You’re getting the full dose or Iron, recommended by doctors (27 mg), now in a gentler-on-the-stomach and more bioavailable form. Iron is crucial during pregnancy to combat Iron-deficiency anemia (a common pregnancy complication), support maternal red blood cell production (which increases dramatically in pregnancy), and to support fetal growth, especially in the third trimester. We’ve also formulated it to be in its own capsule to support better stability.

Our comprehensive prenatal blend includes easy-to-absorb Iron to help your blood transport oxygen, Vitamin D for calcium absorption and immune support, and Iodine, Zinc and Selenium for thyroid support. This formula also includes Folic Acid and highly bioavailable Methylated Folate (5-MTHF), Vitamin B12 and Choline to support fetal brain, spine and nervous system development if you are already pregnant. Added bonus: our DHA comes from algae oil so there's no fishy aftertaste!
Our medical and naturopathic doctors screened many prenatal vitamins on the market and ensured ours were packed with everything they identified was missing from others. A key element in all of our formulas is the bioavailability of our raw ingredients—the vitamins and minerals are in their most absorbable form to help your body process them efficiently and effectively.
I'm not pregnant or trying to conceive. Can I still take these prenatal supplements?
Yes! It's recommended to take prenatal vitamins for at least three months before trying to conceive, but reproductive-aged women and people with eggs can take a prenatal vitamin daily. This recommendation is rooted in the fact that close to half of pregnancies in the United States are unintended and many people might not know that they are pregnant for the first few weeks. Since the baby grows rapidly during the first trimester (brain, spine, heart and organs are among the first to develop!), it is best to ensure that you are getting enough of the essential vitamins and minerals to support and optimize fetal development.
When can I start taking these prenatals and for how long?
Doctors recommend starting a prenatal supplement at least three months before you try to conceive. Our Female Fertility Prenatal Power Pack is perfect for that preconception period (it has extra support for egg health!), but you can also take the Complete Prenatal Pack during that time. Already pregnant? Start taking the Complete Prenatal Pack as soon as you find out—one packet daily to ensure your body is getting the best combination of nutrients it needs to support you and your baby. Continue to take your prenatal throughout pregnancy, and then, in the fourth trimester, switch to the Postpartum. Feeling nauseous? Try the Gentle Prenatal Pack until your nausea subsides.
The Complete Prenatal Pack and the Female Fertility Prenatal Power Pack share the same foundation of essential nutrients needed for pregnancy—Iron, Vitamin D, Iodine, Zinc, Selenium, Folic Acid, Methylated Folate (5-MTHF), Choline and vegan DHA.
What's different about the Female Fertility Prenatal Power Pack is that it gives your eggs an extra dose of antioxidant lovin' if your body's clock is ticking. The Power Prenatal provides a boost of CoQ10 (Coenzyme Q10), NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine), and other antioxidants to give your eggs the fuel they need to perform optimally.
You might've noticed that our formula's 1 mg of Vitamin B12 is well above the amount that's typically recommended per day in pregnancy. But there are good reasons for that! First, it's important to understand how crucial B12 is in pregnancy. Along with its better-known counterpart Folic Acid, Vitamin B12 helps keep homocysteine from building up. That's crucial because high levels of homocysteine have been linked to neural tube defects, pregnancy loss, preterm delivery, restricted fetal growth, preeclampsia and other cardiovascular complications.
Unfortunately, it can be hard for your body to get enough B12 without a little help. In your diet, you can only get it from animal products, and your absorption can be affected by certain autoimmune conditions or even just taking antacids.
Because it's so critical for pregnancy (and before, so that you can build up enough stores by the time the neural tube develops in early pregnancy!), it's important to cover your B12 bases with a prenatal supplement. There's no set upper limit for Vitamin B12 nor is there an established toxic level, but our naturopathic doctors suggest that optimal levels should be much higher than the recommended daily allowance. That's why we pack 500 mcg of a bioavailable form of Vitamin B12 called Methylcobalamin in the Complete Prenatal Pack, the Female Fertility Prenatal Power Pack and the Gentle Prenatal Pack. Learn more about Vitamin B12 on The Nest.
Can I take this product if I'm taking other medication?
If you have any concerns about medication, consider consulting your healthcare practitioner before use. We suggest spacing out your supplements from medication by at least three hours. For product-specific warnings, please visit our ingredients overview page, click on the product you're interested in to read the full ingredients panel, recommended use and warnings.
We understand why you’d want clarity on this change and want to reassure you that the original amount of Vitamin B12 in our Prenatal Essentials for Females was well within safe limits for pregnancy. It was approved under Health Canada’s guidelines, passed a rigorous formula approval process, and was thoroughly reviewed by our medical team and board of advisors. There is no evidence linking that amount to any pregnancy risks, developmental risks, or other health concerns, and it remains Health-Canada approved for safety.
The recent update to our Complete Prenatal Pack formula was not made due to any safety concerns. In fact, the B12 amount in our Gentle Prenatal Pack formula has remained the same at 1000 mcg. The small reduction in B12 for this product was part of a broader adjustment where we slightly reduced a few nutrients to make the formula gentler on sensitive stomachs and improve manufacturing consistency—while still fully meeting the nutritional needs for fertility and pregnancy.
We regularly review the latest research and customer feedback to ensure our formulas are safe, effective, and comfortable to take. Your health and the health of your baby remain our highest priority, and our team is always here to answer any questions along your journey.

I highly recommend Bird&Be prenatal supplements to all my patients who are trying to conceive. They provide a personalized and convenient approach, which makes their prenatals more efficient and enhances patient compliance.
I'm thrilled for patients to be able to access higher and more effective doses of key ingredients than I've seen in other prenatals - three cheers for choline and CoQ10!
Having an evidence-based approach to fertility-focused supplements is a key component to optimizing success, and it’s great that Bird&Be’s scientifically-backed prenatals are accessible to everyone, regardless of whether they’re seeing a fertility specialist.
Bird&Be has hit all the right marks for prenatal and preconception care. They’ve removed the guesswork from patients' supplement regimes, while emphasizing dose education and including usable, active ingredient forms.
Personalizing the formulas based on the individual's needs makes Bird&Be's supplements much more effective, especially for those who require a much more intensive regimen to support conception.
I started these in the first trimester, really helped with my nausea I found, and I could actually stomach them which was nice. Only thing that wasn’t fun was the smell of the green ones in the beginning, but now that I’m in second trimester It doesn’t bother me at all. Excited to keep these going and then eventually switch to the post natal ones. Happy I could find a good quality brand in Canada that wasn’t outrageous with their prices. Love the subscription too because your girls got pregnancy brain so it’s real nice it just shows up at my door lol
Also super random but I loved that somewhere it reminds you that you don’t have to take them first thing in the morning, lol for some reason I always forget that when I start taking prenatals again
. If your a new pregnant lady take your prenatals at lunch or dinner makes it 10X easier!!

Absolutely love them, birthed a healthy baby boy
These prenatal vitamins came at the recommendation of my naturopath and they have everything I need to ensure the healthy growth of my baby. They are easy to take and the dispenser box packaging make it easy to grab and go. I did find that the amount of iron in the vitamins me constipated but worth it for a healthy thriving baby. I just upped my prune juice and chia seed intake.
