Gentle Prenatal Gummies

Gummies

Serving size: 4 gummies30 servings per box

  • Cholineas choline bitartrate Per serving: 150 mg Percent daily value: 27%
    Benefits

Supports baby’s brain, spinal cord, and helps prevent pregnancy fatigue.

    About the daily value

We're proud to offer one of the highest doses of Choline on the market. It's an expensive ingredient, but a critical one for fetal development. Cover your full daily needs by pairing this supplement with 2 to 3 eggs.

    Also found in

Eggs, beef liver, salmon, soybeans, broccoli

  • Folateas 400 mcg folic acid, 600 mcg calcium L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate Per serving: 1 mg Percent daily value: 278% 1,667 DFE
    Benefits

Crucial for baby’s brain and spinal cord development, helps prevent birth defects.

    Why this form

Governing health authorities recommend that all reproductive-aged females take at least 400 mcg DFE (which stands for "dietary folate equivalent") via Folic Acid daily for at least 2 to 3 months before conception, and then increase to 600 mcg DFE during pregnancy. Our formulas meet that requirement. And for those with MTHFR mutations, which means you can process some Folic Acid but not super efficiently, we also include 5-MTHF at 1,000 mcg DFE. So whether you have a MTHFR mutation or not, you won’t get too much to cause any health concerns, while still getting more than enough to support your body and baby before and during pregnancy.

    About the daily value

We include two forms of Folate: Folic Acid and L-5-Methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF). Only Folic Acid has been proven to prevent neural tube defects, making it the recommended form by the CDC, ACOG, SOGC and Health Canada, and something we'd never skip out on. But because some people have a gene mutation (MTHFR) that limits their ability to process Folic Acid, we also include the more bioavailable 5-MTHF. This rare hybrid approach gets a thumbs up from both OB/GYNs and naturopathic doctors, which is why you'll find Bird&Be supplements sold in fertility clinics and naturopathic clinics across the United States and Canada.

    Also found in

Leafy greens, lentils, beans, oranges, fortified grains

  • Iodineas potassium iodide Per serving: 220 mcg Percent daily value: 76%
    Benefits

Supports baby’s brain, thyroid, and nervous system while preventing fatigue that worsens nausea.

    Also found in

Seaweed, dairy, fish, eggs, iodized salt

  • Vitamin B12as methylcobalamin Per serving: 100 mcg Percent daily value: 3571%
    Benefits

Supports energy, red blood cells, and baby’s brain and spine development.

    Why this form

We use the most bioavailable form of Vitamin B12 so that your body can put it to use easily.

    About the daily value

Vitamin B12 is extremely important for fertility and pregnancy; having too little is linked with ovulatory issues, implantation failure, poor egg and embryo quality, miscarriage risk, and neural tube defects. But only 1 to 2% of B12 in supplements actually gets absorbed, so we use a higher dose to help ensure that sufficient levels make it into the bloodstream (this is especially important for vegetarians and vegans, as dietary B12 is found in animal products). Vitamin B12 is non-toxic even at high levels, and any excess gets excreted via urine.

    Also found in

Meat, fish, eggs, dairy, fortified plant foods

  • Vitamin B6as pyridoxal-5-phosphate Per serving: 40 mg Percent daily value: 2,000%
    Benefits

Helps reduce nausea, supports baby’s brain and nervous system.

    About the daily value

We include extra B6 (while still sticking below the tolerable upper limit) because it's important for hormone health and research suggests there may be a link between B6 deficiency and early pregnancy loss.

    Also found in

Bananas, poultry, potatoes, fortified cereals, chickpeas

  • Vitamin Cas ascorbic acid Per serving: 90 mg Percent daily value: 75%
    Benefits

Boosts immunity, aids iron absorption, and supports baby’s growth.

    Also found in

Citrus fruits, strawberries, bell peppers, broccoli, tomatoes

  • Vitamin D3 as cholecalciferol (vegan) Per serving: 1000 IU Percent daily value: 167%
    Benefits

Supports bones, immune health, and baby’s skeletal and nervous system.

    Why this form

This form of Vitamin D is not only vegan, but also more effective, bioavailable, and stable than D2.

    About the daily value

Because it's estimated that 40% of Americans and Canadians are deficient in this crucial vitamin, we make sure to follow the recommendation of dosing above the daily value. (It's so important, in fact, that we also offer an extra dose in our Calcium + Magnesium + Vitamin D Boost.)

    Also found in

Sunlight, fatty fish, egg yolks, fortified dairy, mushrooms

  • Vitamin K2 Per serving: 90 mcg Percent daily value: 100%
    Benefits

Supports baby’s bone and heart development and helps with your calcium absorption during pregnancy.

    Also found in

Fermented foods, egg yolks, dairy, natto

Non-medicinal ingredients

Organic tapioca syrup, organic cane sugar, purified water, pectin, tapioca maltodextrin, citric acid, organic mango flavor, organic peach flavor, organic color (apple, carrot, pumpkin), sodium citrate, organic coconut oil, malic acid

What's Happening
Inside Over Time

  1. First Trimester

The Foundation Forms, Even on Rough Days

In the first few weeks your baby's neural tube forms, the earliest structure of the brain and spinal cord. Folate and choline support that critical development, while extra B6 helps ease nausea right when it tends to peak.

  2. Second Trimester

    Rapid Growth, Gentler on You

Your baby grows quickly now and your blood volume expands to keep up, driving up your need for iron. Gentle iron meets that rising demand in a form that stays easy on a sensitive stomach, so you can keep up your routine comfortably.

  3. Third Trimester

    The Final Build

Your baby's brain grows faster now than at any other point, and DHA is a key building block for it. Algae-sourced DHA supports that peak brain and eye development, while calcium and vitamin D support the bone mineralization that accelerates in these final weeks.

  4. Through Birth and Beyond

    Your Recovery Starts Here

Pregnancy draws down your nutrient stores, and birth asks even more of them. Continuing your daily support helps protect your own levels for recovery, with the Postpartum Pack ready to pick up when baby arrives.

"Love these gummies. Were a lifesaver during the first trimester when I didn’t want to stomach anything. The smell is quite peachy, and they do taste like candy without being obnoxiously sweet. I usually get sick of strong flavours quite quickly especially when it comes to supplements, but I always looked forward to these and continue to take them into second trimester. Would recommend for sure!"

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the Gentle Prenatal Gummies right for me?

This comprehensive yet easy-on-the-stomach prenatal is a great option for all pregnant people, especially if you’re dealing with severe nausea. You can take it all the way through pregnancy, or switch to the Complete Prenatal Pack if your queasiness lets up and you can get a few more nutrients in (like Iron, which we skipped in this formula because it’s a toughie when you’re nauseous).

How is this different from the Gentle Prenatal Pack?

We developed the Gentle Prenatal Gummies with our nauseous customers in mind. We gave it a delicious taste (like candy, we promise) and adjusted the formula to suit sensitive stomachs. Both formulas offer our amped-up dose of Vitamin B6 (used in morning sickness meds) and, for the gummies, we added citric acid to help with digestion. To make sure the formula is easy on the stomach, we also lowered the doses of Vitamin B12 (but you’ll still get more than the recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for pregnancy and lactation), Vitamin C (you’ll get 75% of the RDA and this one’s easy to boost through your diet). And we removed the Iron and DHA, a popular request from our nauseous customers.

When it comes to essential nutrients for you and your babe, both formulas cover the recommended amount of Folate (through both Folic Acid and Methylated Folate) needed in early pregnancy, and the amounts of Choline, Iodine, and Vitamins D are unchanged.

And of course, the main difference you’ll notice is the delivery system. Where The Gentle Prenatal Pack is in pill form (3 daily), our Gentle Prenatal Gummies are (predictably) gummies (4 daily). They’re easy on the stomach and extra tasty, perfect for when keeping things down is hard.

Do I need to pair the Gentle Prenatal Gummies with other prenatal vitamins?

Nope! The Gentle Prenatal Gummies can be taken for as long as needed, as you can be assured that you’re receiving the essential nutrients that your reproductive system needs when you’re dealing with nausea. You can get more nutrients later through the Complete Prenatal Pack when your stomach is more settled!

It’s important to note that this is an Iron- and DHA-free prenatal. Some people find tolerating Iron tough in early pregnancy, but doctors do recommend that Iron levels be tested throughout pregnancy and that you’re supplementing (especially in the third trimester when Iron requirements are higher) as needed. We received feedback that, despite the small amount of vegan algae-oil DHA in the previous formula, some were still noting a fishy taste that contributed to their nausea. Your comfort is important to us, and so we removed the DHA so that you can keep this prenatal down at a time when that’s likely difficult. Our Gentle Prenatal Pack and Complete Prenatal Pack each include 27 mg of Iron and 300mg of vegan algae-oil DHA, so when your nausea subsides, you can switch formulas to get these nutrients.

Why does Bird&Be Gentle Prenatal Gummies have two forms of Folate: Folic Acid and Methylated Folate (5-MTHF)?

Folic Acid has been proven to prevent neural tube defects in large-scale clinical studies, so everyone should be on the minimum amount set out by the CDC and Health Canada. However, for those that may not process Folic Acid effectively, and given that many people do not know their gene status, we’ve ensured that we provide more than enough of the active form 5-MTHF as well, so you’re covered from both sources, and are still within the standard dose of 1,000 mcg of Folate per day total (or 1,670 mcg DFE (dietary folate equivalent)).

Are the Gentle Prenatal Gummies vegan?

Yes! This is a fully vegan formula.

Are the Gentle Prenatal Gummies sugar-free?

No, each gummy contains 2 grams of organic sugar, naturally derived from tapioca and cane. One serving of our Gentle Prenatal Gummies contains less than half the sugar content found in a peach or apple.

Are the Gentle Prenatal Gummies naturally flavored?

Yes! We use natural organic peach and mango flavors for this tasty supplement.

How many gummies should I take per day?

To get the full dose of daily nutrients, you’ll need to take 4 gummies per day, which is pretty great given how delicious they are.

Are prenatal gummies as good as pills?

Yes, and in some cases they can be better, as long as you’re picking a great formula. A few studies suggest that gummies have a higher bioavailability than capsules (chewing and saliva lead to quicker digestion). But, we often see fewer vitamins and smaller doses in gummies than their capsule counterparts, and gummies tend to have added sugar. Bird&Be Gentle Prenatal Gummies has the essential nutrients you need in pregnancy and less of (or none of) the vitamins that are hard to keep down. It’s also made with organic sugar, a win for your body and your tastebuds.

What prenatal vitamins do doctors recommend?

The best prenatal is the one you’ll *actually* take daily. The Gentle Prenatal Gummies are delicious, so taking them is the easy part, but we also made sure that they contain all the essentials to support a healthy pregnancy, too. If nausea is making it hard to take (or keep down) your prenatal vitamin, switching to a gummy, even temporarily until your nausea lets up, may be the answer.

Should I take all 4 gummies at once or space them out throughout the day?

You can take them all together or space them out if you find it easier to snack on them throughout the day. Either way, you’re getting what you need on a daily basis.

How fast does it ship?

We hustle orders out of our facility, generally the next business day. Shipping times vary by carrier and location, but are typically between 2 to 8 business days in Canada and 3 to 7 business days in the United States. If you need it sooner, we offer expedited shipping, too.

Why is this more expensive than the Gentle Prenatal Pack?

Unfortunately, gummies are much more expensive to produce than capsules, and we’ve used premium, natural, and organic ingredients to ensure the taste is top notch while you’re in the most sensitive stage of pregnancy.

Can I take this product if I'm on blood thinners?

If you're preparing for an FET or are pregnant and taking blood thinners, our Gentle Prenatal Pack or the Complete Prenatal Pack would be the most suitable options. These do not contain Vitamin K2 and are designed to be compatible with prescription blood thinners. Our Gentle Prenatal Gummies do have a small amount of K2, which may interact with blood thinners, we recommend consulting with your healthcare provider to determine what's best for you.

Amazing!

I struggled taking pills during my first trimester (other prenatals were either huge pills or you had to take 3+) these gummies taste amazing and felt more like a treat rather than an annoying supplement. I continued taking these until my babe was a month old and will absolutely use this prenatal for the next pregnancy!

Helped so much - great alternative

These helped me so much when I was experiencing moderate-severe pregnancy nausea. They didn’t upset my stomach. My only complaint was that when I was really sick, I wished I didn’t need to take all four gummies for a full dose.

Great way to get prenatals in while having issues with pills

I struggled immensely in the first trimester as well as first half of the second trimester with nausea / taking pills. These gummies gave me reassurance that I was still getting something, with the cleanest ingredients on the market unlike other brands. Great taste too

Good prenatal

I really like this product because I am not the best at swallowing pills. These are easy to take and don’t upset my stomach. These taste decent. The price is a little expensive but that seems to be the going rate for prenatals. These also offer more vitamins and nutrients such as choline over the other brand I was taking.

Came wet & surfer coating melted off

I really liked these other than they came wet, and stuck together. All the sugar coating was melted off. Still tasted fine and got me through the weeks where I was nauseous.

I think if they added one of those moisture packs into the bag the problem would be solved!

Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback. We’re really glad to hear the gummies still helped you through a tough time!

We’re sorry to hear about the texture issue you experienced. We’ve heard similar feedback and are actively working with our manufacturers to improve this.

Your suggestion about adding a moisture pack is a great one, and it’s something we’re also exploring as part of these improvements.
We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience - it helps us make the product better for everyone.

Gentle Prenatal - Game Changer

Gentle Prenatal Gummies are a game changer for me. They are easier for me to take and I actually enjoy taking them as they taste like candy. I was having a hard time with pre-natal capsules due to morning sickness. These gummies are very tasty and easy to take. I gave one to my husband to try and he said he could eat the whole bag!

Love my prenatal gummies :)

I have tried a few different prenatals throughout my two pregnancies - I have gotten sick from some, but the gentle gummies were just what I needed this time around! Not throwing up my prenatals was a huge win for me (especially in the beginning of pregnancy) - I'm interested in trying some postnatal options after I deliver my baby in April - send me a discount code, hehe ;)

Great product!

I was unable to swallow pills due to pregnancy nausea so these helped a lot . Only thing was gummies don’t have iron in them so I had to take a supplement for that.
