FAQs

  • How do I know if I need the Gentle Prenatal Pack or the Complete Prenatal Pack?

If nausea is making it hard to keep down your vitamins, start with the Gentle Prenatal Pack, formulated for sensitive stomachs with a higher dose of B6. If you're not struggling with nausea, the Complete Prenatal Pack covers the same core nutrients.

  • What's different about the Gentle Prenatal Gummies versus the Gentle Prenatal Pack?

The Gummies drop the DHA found in the Gentle Prenatal Pack, since some found its fishy aftertaste made nausea worse. Both contain Folic Acid, Methylated Folate, B6, and Choline, so once your stomach settles, you're not missing DHA for long.

  • Is it normal to feel nauseous in early pregnancy, and will my prenatal make it worse?

Yes, nausea is common in the first trimester. A prenatal shouldn't be the cause, but certain ingredients like Iron and DHA can be harder on a sensitive stomach. That's exactly why the Gentle Prenatal Pack and Gummies exist as easier alternatives.

  • Do I need to switch off the Gentle Prenatal Pack once my nausea improves?

Not necessarily. The Gentle Prenatal Pack has the same 27mg of Iron and 300mg of DHA as the Complete Prenatal Pack, just with extra B6 and easier-to-swallow capsules. Many people stay on it through pregnancy since switching is a preference, not a requirement.

  • How much folic acid do I need in early pregnancy?

CDC and Health Canada guidelines set 400mcg of folic acid daily as the minimum during early pregnancy to help prevent neural tube defects. All three of our prenatal formulas include this, plus Methylated Folate for those with reduced folate conversion.
