    All the benefits

    Brain Development
Choline is crucial for fetal brain development—and often lacking in diets and forgotten in prenatal formulas.
    Neural Tube Support
You always hear about Folic Acid for healthy brain and spine development, but Choline plays a huge role too, and many prenatals don’t pack enough. Tick both boxes with the recommended amount of Choline (which most prenatals skimp on or skip altogether) plus a hybrid of Folic Acid and 5-Methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF—the active form of Folic Acid).
    Thyroid Function
Iodine, Zinc and Selenium each play an essential role in your thyroid hormones’ production, synthesis and metabolism, respectively.
    Egg Health
Vitamin A is an essential nutrient for everyone but it’s extra crucial for egg health. You’ll often only find its precursor Beta-Carotene in prenatals, but we use a preformed version of the vitamin to make sure your eggs get the real deal.

All the good stuff in it

    Daily Essentials for Females (x2)
When you’re trying (or thinking about it!), this comprehensive blend includes easy-to-absorb Iron to help your blood transport oxygen, Vitamin D for calcium absorption and immune aid, and Iodine, Zinc and Selenium for thyroid support. Already pregnant? A hybrid of Folic Acid and Methylated Folate (5-MTHF, the active form of Folic Acid) along with Vitamin B12 and Choline support fetal brain, spine and nervous system development. And while most prenatals pack a Vitamin A precursor called Beta-Carotene, this one has the vitamin preformed so it can get straight to work.
    Algae Oil DHA (Omega-3) (x1)
Every cell in your body needs this Omega-3 Fatty Acid, but it’s not something you produce naturally and many diets fall short. During pregnancy, you need even more DHA because it gets used up fast for fetal brain, nervous system and eye development. Our DHA comes from algae oil so there’s no fishy aftertaste.

What you may be asking yourself right now

What's different about The Prenatal Essentials for females?

Our comprehensive prenatal blend includes easy-to-absorb Iron to help your blood transport oxygen, Vitamin D for calcium absorption and immune aid, and Iodine, Zinc and Selenium for thyroid support. This formula also includes Folic Acid and highly bioavailable Methylated Folate (5-MTHF), Vitamin B12 and Choline to support fetal brain, spine and nervous system development if you are already pregnant. Added bonus: Our DHA comes from algae oil so there's no fishy aftertaste!

Our medical and naturopathic doctors screened many prenatal vitamins on the market and ensured ours were packed with everything that they identified was missing from others. A key element in all of our formulas is the bioavailability of our raw ingredients - the vitamins and minerals are in their most absorbable form to ensure your body processes them efficiently and effectively.

I'm not pregnant or trying to conceive. Can I still take these prenatal supplements?
Yes! It's recommended to take prenatal vitamins for at least three months before trying to conceive, but reproductive-aged women and people with eggs can take a prenatal vitamin daily. This recommendation is rooted in the fact that close to half of pregnancies in the United States are unintended and many people might not know that they are pregnant for the first few weeks. Since the baby grows rapidly during the first trimester (brain, spine, heart and organs are among the first to develop!), it is best to ensure that you are getting enough of the essential vitamins and minerals to support and optimize fetal development.
When can I start taking these prenatals and for how long?
We recommend taking The Power Prenatal supplements at least three months before you start trying to conceive, to get your eggs and body ready for conception and optimize your journey. You can take all of the supplements together after a meal, three hours before or after other medication. It's important to take one sachet daily to ensure your body is getting the best combination of nutrients it needs to support you and a future pregnancy. If you are already pregnant, we recommend The Prenatal Essentials for Females as a super comprehensive prenatal supplement, or The Gentle Prenatal if you are feeling nauseous.
Why does this product say 'for females' instead of 'for women'?

However you identify, our products are named for your biology, not your gender. The Power Prenatal for females is inclusive of all individuals with eggs and/or a uterus who are preparing or trying to conceive.

What's the difference between The Prenatal Essentials for Females and The Power Prenatal for Females ?

The Prenatal Essentials for Females and The Power Prenatal for Females share the same foundation of essential nutrients needed for pregnancy - Iron, Vitamin D, Iodine, Zinc, Selenium, Folic Acid, Methylated Folate (5-MTHF), Choline and Vegan DHA.

What's different about The Power Prenatal for Females is that it gives your eggs an extra dose of antioxidant lovin' if your body's clock is ticking. The Power Prenatal will give you a boost of CoQ10 (Coenzyme Q10), NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine), Trans-Resveratrol, and other antioxidants to provide your egg with the fuel it needs to perform optimally.

Is The Prenatal Essentials for females vegan?
Yes! The Prenatal Essentials for females is vegan.
What does B12 do and why do I need so much?
You might've noticed that our formula's 1 mg of Vitamin B12 is well above the amount that's typically recommended per day in pregnancy. But there are good reasons for that! First, it's important to understand how crucial B12 is in pregnancy. Along with its better-known counterpart Folic Acid, Vitamin B12 helps keep homocysteine from building up. That's crucial because high levels of homocysteine have been linked to neural tube defects, pregnancy loss, preterm delivery, restricted fetal growth, preeclampsia and other cardiovascular complications.

Unfortunately, it can be hard for your body to get enough B12 without a little help. In your diet, you can only get it from animal products, and your absorption can be affected by certain autoimmune conditions or even just taking antacids.

Because it's so critical for pregnancy (and before, so that you can build up enough stores by the time the neural tube develops in early pregnancy!), it's important to cover your B12 bases with a prenatal supplement. There's no set upper limit for Vitamin B12 nor is there an established toxic level, but our naturopathic doctors suggest that optimal levels should be much higher than the recommended daily allowance. That's why we pack 1 mg of a bioavailable form of Vitamin B12 called Methylcobalamin in The Prenatal Essentials for Females, The Power Prenatal for Females and The Gentle Prenatal. Learn more about Vitamin B12 on The Nest.
Can I take this product if I'm taking other medication?
If you have any concerns about medication, consider consulting your healthcare practitioner before use. We suggest spacing out your supplements from medication by at least three hours. I highly recommend Bird&Be prenatal supplements to all my patients who are trying to conceive. They provide a personalized and convenient approach, which makes their prenatals more efficient and enhances patient compliance.

I'm thrilled for patients to be able to access higher and more effective doses of key ingredients than I've seen in other prenatals - three cheers for choline and CoQ10!

Having an evidence-based approach to fertility-focused supplements is a key component to optimizing success, and it’s great that Bird&Be’s scientifically-backed prenatals are accessible to everyone, regardless of whether they’re seeing a fertility specialist.

Bird&Be has hit all the right marks for prenatal and preconception care. They’ve removed the guesswork from patients' supplement regimes, while emphasizing dose education and including usable, active ingredient forms.

Personalizing the formulas based on the individual's needs makes Bird&Be's supplements much more effective, especially for those who require a much more intensive regimen to support conception.

I discovered Bird&Be after having a missed miscarriage that i found out about at 12 weeks with my first pregnancy. As a biologist who is used to approaching problems in my professional life by searching for data driven solutions, my way of dealing with it was to dive deep into researching whether there was anything I could do to increase the speed at which I got pregnant again (it took us 9 months the first time), and to reduce the likelihood of chromosomal abnormalities, which id learned are the most frequent cause of first trimester miscarriages. I wound up stumbling upon "it starts with the egg" by Rebecca Fett and learned that so much of the fate of a pregnancy is based on processes that take place in the development of eggs and sperm up to 3 months before conception, and having enough of certain nutrients can help ensure everything develops properly. Bird&Be's approach is largely informed by the research reviewed in this book, so I decided to give the Power Prenatal a try. After 4 months I was pregnant again. I am now 16 weeks pregnant and have switched over to the Prenatal Essentials. Everything suggests that this pregnancy is progressing well and baby and I are healthy. My doctor commented on my excellent iron levels during my first trimester blood work, which i suspect i have the prenatal at least partially to thank for because despite my desire to get as many nutrients as i could from my diet, at that point the only food i could stomach was yogurt, fruit, and salt and vinegar chips! It's impossible to know for sure how much my choice of prenatals influenced the positive outcomes so far with this pregnancy, but I feel better knowing that I took steps that were within my power to improve my likelihood of having a healthy pregnancy, and it's validating that things are going well.

    Amazing product and service!

I ordered them for my daughter in law. They have everything you need. They best part is her journey is a very difficult one and the response to my email asking what I should order was so fast and so caring and guided us correctly. But also they made sure we checked with her doctor. He was very impressed with the vitamins. She never had an upset stomach as most prenatal ones caused issues. She had energy and appetite. Unfortunately our journey has not ended the way we wanted but these vitamins have been amazing. And we will use them again. This company truly cares about what men and women have to deal with during these difficult journeys. I highly recommend

    The best prenatal

I have used bird&be for about two years, I started with the Power Prenatals while I was going through my IVF retrieval and recently switched to the Essentials now that we are transferring our embryos. I trust this company so much, and will continue to use them throughout my journey. The research and care they put into the formulas, and the advocacy for the infertility community is amazing.

Love it, but hard on stomach.

Very good product, but too hard on stomach for the first trimester for me. I had to switch to the Gentle Prenatal, which works perfectly!

    Love!

I was looking into the power prenatal but then I had surprisingly found out I was pregnant. I deal with PCOS so it has been 6 years of wanting another baby. While comparing these to the previous prenatal gummies I was taking, the ingredients in these were double or more. So knowing that these had all the ingredients I was looking for to manage my symptoms of PCOS as well as provide all that I needed for my pregnancy was a no brainer for me! I love that it is conveniently packaged for me compared to the 5 different bottles I had. I have also found that since I have started taking them I have alot more energy! Even before I was pregnant. I will continue to purchase these and I am interested in trying the postpartum after I give birth! I also like the fact that these are made in Canada. Thank you Bird&Be for a great product!
